Follow these money saving hints and tips to keep your costs down and stay environmentally friendly.

Did you know that 1 drip of wasted water adds up?

Drain Tips:
Pour 1/2 cup of baking soda down the drain followed by 1 cup of vinegar. It will start to fizz which is normal. Let it sit for an hour and then flush with hot water.

Freshen up the garbage disposal by grinding an ice cube and a twist of citrus rinds. This will also help clean the blades.

7 top causes for a blocked drain:

Flush your hot water heater at least once a year.
Never use abrasive cleaners on your faucets and fixtures.
Use Enzymes (a beneficial bacteria) To clean your drain pipes.

Porcelain is a pottery made of a special white form of clay. In Liquid form it is molded, dried, glazed  and then fired in a kiln. Some plumbers use hot water to clear a clogged toilet but be carefull as extremely hot water will crack the porcelain.

Never use toilet bowl cleaners in tank (2000 flushes, vanish, blue water cleaners) . As it will damage your rubber components and void the manufactures warranty.

Hard water can cause scale to form inside of pipes and appliances. The manufacturer recommends that you flush your water heater at least once a year to reduce sediment, run more efficiently and prolong its life. It also reduces the soaps ability to lather and dry your skin.

Soft water which basically removes the calcium and magnesium ions in the water and replaces it with sodium ions. It also decreases your detergent usage up to 70%, increases your clothing and linen longetivity, produces whiter whites, increases water heater efficiency up to 30%, elimnates spots and streaks on fixtures, improve water pressure and flow rates and eliminate hard water maintenance issues.
